Don’t Shoot the Messenger

Retirement is no longer an automatic rite of passage. I checked—no one, including the federal government or your employer, is secretly contributing to a GoFundMe account to fully pay for your retirement years, a period that could last longer than all the years you have worked.

Passive retirement hopefuls must become active participants in their own financial futures if they wish to open the window of retirement opportunity wide enough to enjoy the freedoms of the financially independent—doing what they want, when they want, for as long as they want.

Advocating the necessity for people to financially and emotionally plan ahead for their retirement futures has been my professional calling for over three decades. This sacred work has been extremely gratifying for me. I enjoyed every day!
